Thursday, February 16th, 2012

I was just about to launch a new website. I could hardly wait. I had been looking forward to this day for a very long time. I also took a long time to plan it so I had this website in my head for a long time. I found a designer to help me design my site and my best friend helped me photograph my inventory and add it and the descriptions. She was such a good help. I knew I needed to optimize my site for the search engines, but I think this was something that I had to hire out. I had no idea how to do this and I wanted to make sure it was done right. I went online and saerched for canadian search engine optimization. I found a great company and I contacted them right away. I could not wait for them to optimize my site.

A Call from Cousin David

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Cousin David called last week. I was surprised since I haven’t heard from him for a while. He wanted me to have a look at the website for his new company and tell him what I think. David has always liked to ask me for my opinion on his clothes, the paintings he wants to buy and once he even dragged me along to buy furniture for his new house!

So I went to the website and browsed around. I have to say that it was really nicely done. It was easy to navigate around and all the text was easy to read and digest. David told me that Perth web design made his website. He told them to make his engineering consulting business look funky and professional at the same time. Well the website certainly looked that way to me! I’m really happy that he got what he wanted.

I wonder what David will ask my opinion for next time…

How to Make a Website: Make Book Reviews

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

ashikdinesh : I will research domain names for your business, website ...When you want to learn how to make a website, normally the first thing you would look for would be a book – either electronic or hard copy, just to make sure that you have something that would guide you. Why a book, you ask? Because the alternative could prove to be far too expensive and costly – imagine going to classes just to learn things you could learn in a book. However, not all books are going to have the same effectiveness, so it would be a good idea for you, if you are someone who purchased a book like this, to make a review of the book so that other people would be enlightened. Of course when you make a book review, it would be a good idea to make sure that your review is both very readable and is not biased in any way – anything less would make your review useless, really.

Computing Freedom on a Virtual Cloud

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

Woman Grocery Shopping, Carrying a Bag of Apples and Oranges Clipart ...Networking topologies have made advancements in the form of leaps and bounds over the past few years. The power of well-organized and sufficiently-classed networks has been the backbone of most bandwidth speeds and overall internet/intranet services. A Cloud vps is a prime example of networking in this new age and is an advancement that makes me curious how I ever managed to survive without it. Rather than providing a standard “client to server; server to client” setup, where something would be downloaded and used as a standalone program, we use the “cloud”. This cloud represents an ongoing pool of information, services, just about anything and they only exist in the online world. Internet products are then marketed as a “service” as compared to a “product” because they are using the service of the product via their network connection. This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to cloud computing, but it only gets better and stronger from there.

Friday, November 25th, 2011

Trying to do business in this day and age requires that you be willing to undertake some marketing strategies that you may not be familiar with but are none the less very important in this climate of social networking. It is extremely important that you hire not only a marketing firm but an SEO company as well. These 2 companies can be one in the same, but sometimes you can find an affordable business that specializes in SEO that can do a better job than a marketing firm that intends to ‘do it all’. Whatever path you decide to travel down, it’s safe to say that if you don’t invest in optimization of your online presence, your company can quickly be over run by the thousands of companies that are doing the exact same job as you but have paid a little extra to show up first in a Google search for your services. Typography and Web Design

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

Most people will agree that content is still king when it comes to producing and marketing a successful website of any kind. However, as important as the content your produce for your website, the way you format and present that content is just as important. One formatting element that Denver web design firms often do not take into enough consideration is that of typography.

Generally speaking, typography is the styling of text throughout a website. This can include the font or typeface of the text, the size of the text, the boldness of the text, and other styling elements, such as use of italics, capitalization, etc. Like many parts of web design, typography has both a conscious and subconscious effect on visitors to a website. Bolder, larger typography often comes across as violent or aggressive, while softer, smaller typography comes off as calmer and more passive.

Whatever typography you decide to use on your website, make sure that it suits your goals and will appeal to the type of visitors you are targeting.

I'm Reselling the Hosting

Monday, September 19th, 2011

I have been introduced to a great way to make money, which is reseller web hosting. It is especially useful for me because I help people make websites. This way, I can resell a hosting service to them as part of my designing and hosting package. It feels nice to be able to make money off of both aspects of the process. I think that people come to me because they want a nice website, and when I can put it up online too, that is an even better deal for them. Usually, the people who come to me have no idea how the internet works, or they just don’t have the time to set things up properly. I think it is a great idea to at least have something like this available to the many people who are seeking out a solution for their sites. It brings in tons of money, and I am glad I can do it for them all.

Not Too Complicated – Simplify Your Site

Sunday, September 11th, 2011

Some things in life are so complicated that they demotivate you so much. Take the gym situation, for example, the gym member would rather avoid a machine that looks too complicated and just use another machine. Not wanting to ask for assistance even if assistance is available, the member feels intimidated, the member may even be less conditioned from using a different machine. The gym owner may look at this and attempt to provide instructions that are easy to understand and may even eliminate the machine altogether. The client’s satisfaction is the key and important aspect of a business success and if a business fails to satisfy the client, the loss of clients could be imminent. If the website of a business is too complicated and intimidating, the client may avoid the website completely. This is why web design specialists will keep your website simple, yet functional, allowing everyone to be catered for and enjoy the online experience.

Not the Way That I Do Business

Monday, August 29th, 2011

If you’ve never built a website before and you’re not sure where to turn, then you might want to run yourself a quick search for nopcommerce. Particularly when you’re going to be hosting a store on your website, you really have to be sure that you’re taking your development seriously. You’re going to be putting people’s information at risk if you don’t have a nice, secure website. Of course, leaking information is going to cause you to really hemorrhage your user base. If it were me, I’d make sure that I’d hired a really top notch company to handle my development and support. If I should happen to identify a security flaw, I want to be able to guarantee that it gets fixed within the day. I don’t want to sit around hiding the fact that I’m putting my customers at risk. That’s just not the way that I do business.
